“My dream, thus mission in life is to travel the world and photograph beautiful, vibrant animals in all places and circumstances, free and confined”.

                                                                 Julian Starks

Over the past two years, Julian traveled across the United States to photograph animals at various zoos, institutions and sanctuaries to document these stunning creatures in environments which for the most part replicate their natural habitats so well that these creatures are no longer threatened but living full, happy lives.

Julian has compiled the images with short text that highlights information about the featured animals and the very real risk of many species potentially becoming extinct in the shockingly near future.

An accomplished dancer, actor, photographer, filmmaker, activist, and entrepreneur, Julian Starks started his career in Cincinnati, Ohio, then spent 12 years in NYC. Julian has traveled the world photographing people, and places. The past 2 years have been spent capturing images of animals in captivity. He continues to document these animals to raise awareness of the important role biodiversity plays in our ecosystem.
