Why Should You Donate to this Project?

The animal kingdom is an important part of the global ecology. Each species serves a purpose in the balance of the natural world. However, things like massive population growth, commercial development, the exploitation of natural resources, and even global warming have threatened the survival of our animal neighbors. Many of the animals featured in LIFE Behind Bars Vol. I are already

close to extinction or endangered.

Currently, the mountain gorilla’s habitat is limited to protected national parks in two regions of Africa. One group of gorillas lives in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. The other group is spread over three national parks in the Virungas mountain region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Rwanda.

Yet due to detrimental human activity, such as poaching, civil war, and habitat destruction, the mountain gorilla, a subspecies of the eastern gorilla, has become the most endangered type of gorilla. Currently, the mountain gorilla's habitat is limited to protected national parks in two regions of Africa.    © Animal Fact Guide 2007 - 2019

I created my nonprofit Visions of the World Inc. which will donate a portion of all book sale proceeds from LIFE Behind Bars Vol. I, plus associated merchandise revenue to these associations that protect and preserve endangered species.

Where your Donations Go

VISIONS OF THE WORLD Inc. has announced its partnership with the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Photographer/Filmmaker Julian Starks founded what became Visions of the World Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit company

that promotes equality and respect for all animals. “Our first project, LIFE BEHIND BARS Vol  I is the most comprehensive photographic study to date of exotic and endangered animals and the necessity of their being kept in captivity for their own protection, and that of their species” declares Julian Starks.

When creating LIFE Behind Bars Vol I, I realized the importance of the thankless work done by the wild animal sanctuaries and conservations groups to save species and how crucial it is for me to give back and support their efforts to protect and preserve creatures close to extinction.

Our collaboration with PETA BUSINESS FRIENDS allows VISIONS OF THE WORLD to share a portion of the proceeds from LIFE BEHIND BARS with an organization that is committed to fighting for the rights of all animals.

Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds of LIFE Behind Bars Vol I book sales and associated merchandise will also go directly to the institutions where the animals were photographed, as well.
